I shot this whole video on a 50mm lens with no crew. Jeremy Loops is one of South Africa’s most accomplished and celebrated musicians. I’d been listening to one of his albums earlier that day, when his agent contacted me. Our little nation was eyeballs deep in the Covid lockdown blues. Jeremy and I decided that we wanted to make something that was the very antithesis of everything sterile, social distanced and fearful. I wanted to shoot something where his girlfriend became the female character in the song, but my 15 year old daughter had a better idea. “Dad, how about using old hands…?” she suggested. 85 year old Audrey had recently survived C-19 and so we decided to ask her to be our female character.
